PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polypeptide having an excellent anti-SARS virus activity and an SARS onset-preventing agent or anti-SARS agent containing the modified substance or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This polypeptide exhibiting a superior anti-SARS virus activity to that of a natural type is constructed by assuming the amino acid sequence of HR2 peptide of the SARS virus and by using X-Glu-Glu-X-X-Lys-Lys scanning.
