<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a current-voltage non-linear resistor which can achieve miniaturization of an overcurrent protector, has high resistance value and excellent thermal stability, and is excellent in non-linear resistant characteristics and life characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The resistor is configured of a sintered body principally containing zinc oxide, containing as sub-components: bismuth, cobalt, manganese, antimony and nickel which are converted into oxide expressions of 0.3-1.5 mol% Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.3-2.0 mol% Co<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0.4-3 mol% MnO, 0.5-4 mol% Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and 0.5-4 mol% NiO respectively, further containing 0.001-0.02 mol% Al<SP>3+</SP>, containing an oxide of at least one kind of rare-earth element R which is converted into an oxide expression of 0.05-1.0 mol% R<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, the element R being selected from among yttrium, europium, erbium, thulium, gadolinium, dysprosium, holmium and ytterbium, and further, having content not less than 90 mol% ZnO. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
