PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-read/operate screen display for a viewer by decreasing the movement of the visual point of the viewer. SOLUTION: A cursor C to be displayed on an electronic program guide is movable only in a set cursor moving range R. Consequently, the movement of the visual point of a viewer is limited to the size of the cursor moving range R, and the problem wherein the movement of the visual point of a viewer increases, to cause difficulty in viewing does not occur. The electronic program guide itself is displayed over the entire screen, as conventionally. When the cursor C is moved to an arbitrary position on the electronic program guide, the cursor can be moved, as it is, if a target position is included in the cursor moving range R. When the cursor C is desired to be moved to a position existing at the outside of the cursor moving range R, the target can be moved in the cursor moving range R, by making the electronic program guide itself srolled in the screen.
