<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any erroneous operation in a server machine (numbering server) for accepting a numbering request with electronic mail. <P>SOLUTION: This server machine (numbering server) is provided with a numbering management means (mail analysis part 213, command execution part 214) for analyzing electronic mail transmitted from a client machine, and for performing automatic numbering processing to an electronic numbering ledger based on a numbering command included in the electronic mail and a means (mail address comparison part 215) for confirming whether or not the electronic mail has been transmitted from a person who has numbering request authority based on information included in the electronic mail including the numbering command.
