<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life high-pressure discharge lamp free from devitrification for a long time, and capable of restraining degradation of luminance, damage or blowing out of an arc tube. <P>SOLUTION: The lamp is provided with a rotation mechanism rotating the arc tube 1 around its tube axis 1b, and a part (a top part 1a) of the arc tube 1 where temperature rises highest during lighting is to be shifted. The rotation mechanism is constituted of a motor 9, a worm gear 10, a gear 11 and a spur wheel 12, and is controlled by a rotation control circuit 14. The rotation control circuit 14 decides on driving timing and rotation angles for the arc tube 1 based on power on/off information, lighting time information and driving power information or the like of the arc tube 1 to control the rotation mechanism, and is constituted of a switch 15 putting on/off the arc tube 1, a CPU 16 calculating a driving timing and rotation angles, a memory 17 retaining lighting time information or the like, and a drive circuit 18 receiving signals outputted from the CPU 16 and driving the motor 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
