PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic material capable of generating terahertz waves, capable of satisfactorily suppressing reduction of intensity of a terahertz wave generated in a specified frequency region, and generating the terahertz wave having satisfactory intensity in a wide band. SOLUTION: The organic material for terahertz wave generation is a mixed crystal, containing a component (A) comprising p-toluensulfonic acid 1-methyl-4-ä2-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl] ethenyl}pyridinium represented by general Formula (1) and a component (B), containing at least either the component (A) or a compound that gives isomorphic crystal as the component (A).
