PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for toner for obtaining products with uniform quality and little variation in the quality in product groups when the resin product is divided into a plurality of groups, to provide a mixer for the manufacture of a binder resin used in its production method, and to provide toner containing the binder resin. SOLUTION: The binder resin for toner is obtained by mixing two or more kinds of constituting resins with different softening points/acid values, and, when the resin is divided into a plurality of groups, the variation coefficient of the softening point of the resin among the groups is≤3%. The method for manufacturing a binder resin for toner includes a process of mixing two or more kinds of constituting resins with softening points and/or acid values by using a mixer equipped with a stirring shaft which can rotate and revolve and with stirring blades attached to the stirring shaft, and, when the resin obtained by the above process is divided into a plurality of groups, the variation coefficient of the softening point of the resin among the groups is≤3%.
