PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide rail device of an elevator, improving the design nature in the interior of a hoistway in simple constitution. SOLUTION: In this guide rail device of an elevator, a plurality of rails having a predetermined length are connected to each other in the vertical direction to thereby guide the elevating direction of an elevating body elevated in the hoistway of the elevator. In a joint plate 19 provided extending between backs of rails 9a and 9b disposed adjacent to each other in the vertical direction and a fastening means for fixing the joint plate 19 to the respective rails 9a and 9b disposed adjacent to each other in the vertical direction, the parts thereof disposed on the back of the rails 9a and 9b are covered with a cover 22 not seen by a user of the elevator and a person near a landing 3.
