A sintered oil-retaining bearing capable of avoiding oil leakage from the circumferential surface thereof. There is provided sintered oil-retaining bearing (1) comprising bearing main body (2) constituted of a porous sintered alloy having pores (8) therein and, made in the bearing main body, bearing hole (3) for insertion of a rotary shaft therethrough, wherein pores (8) opening at the circumferential surface (7) of the bearing main body (2) are crushed. The crushing of the pores (8) may be performed on green compact (P), or on the sintered alloy resulting from sintering of the green compact (P). Consequently, any leakage of lubricating oil from the circumferential surface (7) of the bearing (1) can be avoided, and the oil pressure at the inside bearing hole (3) can be ensured. |
