<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly suppress reverse-transfer, to prevent color mixture on a photoreceptor, thereby to dispense with a waste toner recovery mechanism on the photoreceptor, and then, not only to attain size reduction and cost reduction of a machine, but also to attain long lifetime for a cleaning mechanism and the photoreceptor, and to enable toner-recycling. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with at least two image forming units (123), constituted by providing electrostatic latent image forming means (111, 114 and 115), a developing means (112) for forming a toner image of a latent image formed by the electrostatic latent image forming means; and a transfer means for transferring the toner image to an image carrier, and configured to form a superimposed color image, by successively transferring the toner images from respective image forming units to the image carrier, wherein a heat source (117c) is provided to each image forming unit for melting the toner, before superimposing the images. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
