<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, eliminating the need of additional parts for detecting a temperature of hydrocarbon adsorbent, reducing the space, time and cost required for the temperature detection, and providing an estimated temperature reflecting quantitative change of exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: An adsorbent 86 which can adsorb hydrocarbon in an exhaust passage 5 of the internal combustion engine 1 is provided. Processing, in which an additional value is added to an estimate value of last time to acquire the estimate value of this time, is repeated so as to estimate the temperature of the adsorbent 86, and the additional value is changed depending on intake air amounts and ignition timing of the internal combustion engine 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
