PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot plug signal detection apparatus capable of surely detecting a change in a hot plug signal without increasing a load imposed on a transmission processing section. SOLUTION: Since the hot plug signal from a sink apparatus 2 is given to an AD input terminal AD 1 of a control section 14 and the hot plug signal is A/D-converted and a high level or a low level in terms of a digital value is determined, no hot plug detection circuit is required and the circuit configuration can be simplified. Further, when a period of the low level of the hot plug signal is smaller than a time Tout, since the pulse width of the low level is extended up to the time Tout and the resulting low level is outputted, the transmission processing section 14 can surely detect the low level without the need for shortening the period of detecting the hot plug signal.
