<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disconnection detecting method for a connection line of a communication system in which a disconnection of a connection line can be detected without increasing the number of components constituting the communication system and without increasing an operation time. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system comprises a plurality of control means ECU1 to ECU5 controlling equipment mounted on a vehicle, two communication lines CANH and CANL which each have both ends connected to each other by a terminating resistance R1 or R2, and connection lines CH and CL which connect the plurality of control means ECU1 to ECU5 and the two communication lines CANH and CANL. After the plurality of control means ECU1 to ECU5 are all switched from a normal control mode to a power-saving mode, arbitrary one control means ECUN is switched from the power-saving mode to the normal control mode and further switched from the normal control mode to the power-saving mode to decide the connection liens CH and CL connecting the control means ECUN and two communication lines CANH and CANL are broken when a transient differential voltage is generated between the two communication lines CANH and CANL. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
