<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method, capable of smoothly performing a calibration process in a plurality of modes. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a recording part which records a plurality of calibration data, an image forming part which reads it to form a plurality of calibration patterns as an image on a recording medium, an ADF reading part which automatically transports and reads the recording medium, a deciding part which decides reading errors, by comparing the data that has been read with a reference data that has been prepared in advance, a calculation part which compares the read data with a plurality of reference image data that have been prepared, in advance, to calculate a plurality of image correction amounts, an image processing part where the image data of an original which is read anew is subjected to image correction according to the plurality of image correction amounts, and a control part which controls to output instruction signals so that the recording medium, in which a plurality of calibration patterns are formed is placed on the ADF reading part again, if the error determining part finds errors, to perform reading again, when the recording medium is placed on the ADF reading part again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
