PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control arrangement of alumina nano holes without increasing the number of manufacturing processes and cost regarding a magnetic recording medium and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: No less than half of a surface area of an aluminum oxide substrate 6 in a magnetic recording medium in which a recording layer 5 comprising aluminum oxide substrate 6 and ferromagnetic material 10 filled up with an aperture 9 formed in the aluminum oxide, is made alumina which is more minute than alumite 8, and its lower part is made alumite 8.
