PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely restore the record content of an auxiliary storage device with the usage of the other type of the auxiliary storage device. SOLUTION: The record content restoring device of the auxiliary storage device for restoring the record content of a first auxiliary storage device 101 is provided with a second auxiliary storage device 111 having a section information file and a section file corresponding to at least one of sections and successively holding information recorded in all record units belonging to the respective sections; a section information restoring means 112 reading out the section information file from the second auxiliary storage device 111 in accordance with input of a restoring instruction and recording its content in a prescribed position of the first auxiliary storage device 101; and a section restoring means 113 receiving the section information, successively reading out at least one of the section files from the second auxiliary storage device 111 in accordance with input of the restoring instruction, and recording its content in a record position of the auxiliary storage device 101 shown by the section information.
