PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at least one alternative simultaneous stimulation molecule, an antagonist and an agonist, useful in modulation of excess immune response. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a substantially pure or recombinant protein (312C2 protein) acting as simultaneous stimulation factor of T cell activation or its conservatively modified variant and further, mouse and human 312C2 protein having a specific amino acid sequence and a protein specifically binding to an antibody prepared for these proteins.
