PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely feed a paper sheet from a first and a second paper feed cassettes 3, 33 of an image recording apparatus to a recording part above it through a carrying passage 9 U-shaped in a side view. SOLUTION: The second paper feed cassette 33 on which paper sheets P1 of a narrow size are placed is placed to move forward and backward on the first paper feed cassette 3 where a number of large-sized paper sheets are stacked. A carrying path 9 for feeding a paper sheet separated by an inclined separating plate 8 provided at the end part of the first paper feed cassette 3 is provided with an outside diameter side carrying path body 35 U-shaped in the transverse direction in a side view and an inside diameter carrying path body 36 disposed at a space on the inside diameter side. The inside diameter side carrying path body 36 includes: a center guide plate 37 where only the paper sheets in the second paper feed cassette 33 pass; and both right and left guide plates 38 located on both right and left sides to slidably guide both end sides in the width direction of the paper sheet in the first paper feed cassette 3, wherein a plurality of rotary rollers 39a, 40 are provided in regions on the upstream side in the paper feed direction in the center guide plate 37 and both right and left guide plates 38.
