PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost while performing cleaning of the air in a cabin using a high function filter. SOLUTION: The vehicular air conditioner has an inside and outside air switching door 12 for selectively switching an inside air introduction passage 9a for introducing the inside air, i.e., air in the cabin and an outside air introduction passage 10a for introducing the outside air, i.e., air at the outside of the cabin and communicated with a fan 8; and a filtration material 15 capable of removing a fine foreign matter in air such as pollen, and is provided with the high function filter 14 positioned at the inside air introduction passage 9a and arranged movably between a filtration position C where the introduced inside air is passed through the filtration material 15 and a by-pass position D where the introduced inside air is by-passed through the filtration material 15; an air quality enhancing switch 26; and a control means 4 for receiving output from the air quality enhancing switch 26 and controlling positions of the inside and outside air switching door 12 and the high function filter 14. In the air quality enhancing mode, while the inside and outside air switching door 12 is made to inside air-introduction, the high function filter 14 is positioned at a filtration position, and air-conditioning air passing through the high function filter 14 is blown to the inside of the cabin by the fan 8.
