PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with grinding work after caulking a hub ring and to surely suppress a stick slip noise at the start of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This bearing device for a wheel is provided with an outer ring 105 with double row raceways 113, 114 formed in the inner periphery and double-row rolling elements 103, 104, having a wheel-fitting flange 109 each on one end and double-row raceways 107, 108 in the outer periphery, and respectively interposed between raceways of a hub ring 101 and an inner ring 102 and between the hub ring 101 and the inner ring 102, and the outer ring 105 and both the hub ring 101 and the inner ring 102, with a protruding end part of the hub ring 101 caulked to unify the hub ring 101 and the inner ring 102, and a stem part 127 of an outside joint member 115 of a constant velocity universal joint 106 inserted into a bore of the hub ring 101 for spline-fitting. An abutting part of an end face 140 of the hub ring 101 and an end face 141 of the outside joint member 115 is arranged in a radially inner side of a caulking part 111 of the hub ring 101, and an axial clearance n is provided between the caulking part 111 of the hub ring 101 and a shoulder part 116 of the outside joint member 115.
