PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve manufacturing efficiency of a body and to reduce manufacturing costs of an expansion valve. SOLUTION: The body 4 receiving a valve portion 2 is formed integrally with an inlet port 5 for introducing a refrigerant, an outlet port 6 for leading out the expanded refrigerant and a male screw 16 by a forming die such as a die-casting die, and a power element 3 is connected by the male screw 16. As secondary processing for forming the inlet port 5, the outlet port 6, a valve hole 7, a hole 8 for receiving a valve element 9 and set value adjusting members 10, 11, a hole 12 for receiving a shaft 13 for transmitting driving force to the valve element according to a temperature sensed by the power element 3, and further the male screw 16 becomes unnecessary, the manufacturing efficiency of the body 4 can be improved, and the manufacturing costs of the expansion valve can be reduced.
