PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt transmission device for easily improving the tension of a transmission belt while suppressing the slip of the transmission belt, resulting in improved transmitting efficiency. SOLUTION: The belt transmission device comprises the transmission belt 6 suspended between a driving pulley 2 and at least one driven pulley 3. On at least one portion of a pulley circular face B where each of the driving pulley 2 and the driven pulley 3 contacts the transmission belt 6, a transmission belt thrusting means is provided for thrusting the transmission belt 6 against a pulley.
