A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) power supply device is provided to reduce the heat generated in a main switching element by discharging a parasitic capacitor of the main switching element using a discharge circuit. A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) power supply device includes a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) controller(20), an output transistor(Q), a filter circuit and a discharge circuit(21). The PWM controller receives a DC voltage and outputs a rectangular wave. The output transistor is turned on/off according to an output signal from the PWM controller. The filter circuit filters out a voltage, which is outputted to a load, while switched by a main switching element. The main switching element is driven according to a control signal from the output transistor. The discharge circuit discharges a parasitic capacitor, which is connected between the transistor and the main switching element.
