Rubbery copolymers of vinylidene fluoride with either hexafluoropropylene or chlorotrifluoroethylene are cured by subjecting them to an atmosphere of air-ammonia (preferably containing 4-33 vol. per cent ammonia), at a pressure above atmospheric and a temperature of 150350 DEG F. in the presence of a known amine curing agent such as triethylene tetramine, tetraethylene pentamine, triethyltrimethylene triamine or hexamethylene diamine (the carbamate of the latter is used in the examples). It is stated that the cured copolymer is useful for lining tanks used for storing, transporting or processing solvents and other chemicals, such as fuel cells (e.g. in aircraft) for gasoline. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 755,788 and 772,522. |
