PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible to apply high voltage to both ends of many lamps without increasing the number of high voltage lead lines. SOLUTION: Many first lighting power supply boards 6 and second lighting power supply boards 8 are arranged in parallel on each side of the lamp 2. Secondary side high voltage output terminals 26 and 28 of opposite phase of transformers 12 attached to the respective boards 6 and 8 are connected to the corresponding electrodes of the lamp 2 by lead lines. Primary side input terminals A and B of the transformer 12 on the side of the first lighting power supply board 6 is connected in parallel with connection terminals 38 and 40, respectively, on the side of the first board 6. Primary side input terminals A and B of the transformer 12 on the side of the second lighting power supply board 8 are connected to the connection terminals 42 and 44, respectively, on the side of the second board 8.
