<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-power organic light-emitting diode pixel circuit that can utilize CMOS technology. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel circuit 400 comprises an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) 70 and a static memory 10 for storing data that represents the operating state of the OLED 70. In another embodiment, a pixel circuit 400 includes a CMOS circuit for controlling the OLED, and a protection circuit for protecting the CMOS circuit from an over-voltage condition, and a current source having a field effect transistor (FET).
