An information recording medium wherein light resistance and durability not deteriorating recording/reproducing characteristics are improved and is applicable to a blue laser beam. The optical information recording medium is provided with a recording layer, in which information can be recorded by irradiation of a laser beam of 440nm or less, on a substrate. Pregrooves having a track pitch of 0.2-0.5mm are formed on a transparent disc-like substrate. The information recording medium is of heat mode type, having the recording layer, including a methine dye and an organic oxidizing agent, on the disc-like substrate on the surface on the side whereupon the pregrooves are formed.
