摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel capable of attaining high contrast when viewed in an inclined direction. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel comprises: a crystal cell 2 including a pair of transparent substrates 21, 22 provided with a color filter 24 having each color area for blue, green, and red, and a liquid crystal layer 23 formed by injecting a liquid crystal material between the transparent substrates 21, 22; an optical compensation layer 5 prepared in liquid crystal cell 2; and a light source 6 to radiate light, and is characterized in that the optical compensation layer 5 offsets the phase difference in the thickness direction to the light of a wavelength (G) passing through a green area 24g in the liquid crystal cell and the phase difference in the thickness direction to the light of a wavelength (R) passing through a red area 24r in the liquid crystal cell. Here, the wavelength (G) means a wavelength (nm) which maximizes [a luminous efficiency coefficient Y &times; emission spectrum of light source], among the light of the light source passing through the green area in the liquid crystal cell, and the wavelength (R) means a wavelength (nm) which maximizes [a luminous efficiency coefficient Y &times; emission spectrum of light source], among the light of the light source passing through the red area in the liquid crystal cell, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
