A portable terminal is provided to implement communication mode regardless of the swing location of the second body by forming the second sound emitting hole at the end of the horizontal direction of the second body so that sounds, generated from the second receiver, can be emitted through the second sound emitting hole in case that the second body is horizontally placed. A portable terminal comprises the first body(10), the second body(20), the first sound emitting part, and the second sound emitting part. The second body(20) is connected with the first body(10) so as to make a swing motion. The first sound emitting part, formed at the end of the vertical direction of the second body(20), emits sounds when the second body(20) is vertically placed. The second sound emitting part, formed at the end of the horizontal direction of the second body(20), emits sounds when the second body(20) is horizontally placed. The first sound emitting part consists of the first sound emitting hole(32) and the first receiver. The first sound emitting hole(32) is formed at a side of the vertical direction of the second body(20). The first receiver, embedded in the second body(20), generates the sounds emitted through the first sound emitting hole(32). The second sound emitting part consists of the second sound emitting hole(34) and the second receiver. The second sound emitting hole(34) is formed at a side of the horizontal direction of the second body(20). The second receiver, embedded in the second body(20), generates the sounds emitted through the second sound emitting hole(34).
