PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method of a serially-connected secondary battery which can charge the battery so that voltages of all of the secondary batteries are raised to levels at which problems are not substantially caused, and also can charge the battery irrespective of a discharging method. SOLUTION: After a voltage of one of the secondary batteries Cell 1 reaches a set voltage Vcv lower than a final target voltage, the charging of the preceding secondary battery is continued together with the charging of the other secondary battery Cell 2 toward the final target voltage while making a charging current of the preceding secondary battery partially bypass. After the voltage of the preceding secondary battery reaches the final target voltage, the charging current is reduced by one step, and the charging of the preceding secondary battery may be repeatedly continued together with the charging of the other secondary battery toward the final target voltage while making the charging current of the preceding secondary battery partially bypass by using the stepped-down charging current.
