PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cover having a remote control function, wherein the protective cover detached to use a device driven by, for example, a battery, has the function such that the protective cover is attached after use and, therefore, can be prevented from being lost. SOLUTION: The remote controller is composed of a protective cover and a battery attached to the device. The protective cover incorporates a remote control circuit, an operation section, and a signal emitting part. Power for driving a remote controller is supplied by the battery attached to the protective cover. Further, the protective cover has the function of storing power, and is provided with a display for a quantity of remaining power of the battery and a time measurement function in order to allow settings for the device. Using this time measurement function, a protective cover especially for a secondary battery is provided with a discharging function for protection. By having the function of storing photographing setting information, transmitting it to the camera and setting it, highly functional protective cover can be configured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
