<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively correct curling of a sheet such as cardboard while surely avoiding failures such as defective traveling of the sheet and damage to an image resulting from a mechanical curling correction. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes at least a fixing device 1 for thermally fixing an image G on the sheet 2 and a sheet correcting device 3 provided on the downstream side in the sheet conveying direction of the fixing device 1 to correct the curling of the sheet 2, wherein the sheet correcting device 3 includes a first dehumidification control means 5 for controlling the dehumidification of one surface of the sheet 2 on which the image is fixed by the fixing device 1 and a second dehumidification control means 6 for controlling the dehumidification of the other surface of the sheet 2 on which the image is fixed by the fixing device 1, and the dehumidification control degrees M<SB>1</SB>and M<SB>2</SB>by the first and second dehumidification control means 5 and 6 are made different from each other so as to correct the curling 2c of the sheet 2 formed by the fixing device 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
