PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silicone oligomer causing no decline in the reliability of electrical/electronic equipment or the like. SOLUTION: The method for producing the silicone oligomer comprises reacting an alkoxysilane or an alkoxy group-bearing silane coupling agent with 0.15-0.5 equivalent water based on the alkoxy group in the presence of a solid acid catalyst and, after the reaction, removing the catalyst.
