To produce boards of fibers, containing lignocellulose, the fibers (1) including a bonding agent containing isocyanate (NCO) groups are taken from a wet pulper and their moisture content is set by hot dry air. The fibers are taken separately from a bunker (20) and spread into a fiber mat to be converted into a board by hot pressing. As the fibers are taken for spreading, they are sprayed with a catalyst (16) to accelerate the bonding agent hardening reaction. The catalyst is sprayed through a twin jet (18) with a gas carrier (19) between the fiber loosening rollers (17).
