Cross-linked polymers are produced by subjecting a polymer which is cross-linkable by high energy particulate radiation, having dispersed therein from 0,1% to 30% by weight of a finely divided polymeric perfluoroolefin resin, to particulate irradiation, either directly with a beam of particles such as electrons, protons, neutrons, deuterons, alpha particles and beta particles or by generating such irradiation within the material by means of a beam of high energy, short wave-length, electromagnetic radiation such as X-rays or gamma rays. The polymer may be a polycarbonamide, a polyester, natural rubber, a butadiene polymer, a polymer of ethylene, propylene, butene-1, decene-1 or styrene or a copolymer of two or more of these 1-olefins. The polymeric perfluoroolefin may be polytetrafluoroethylene, polyhexafluoro-propene or a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoro-propene. Specification 884,771 is referred to.
