<p>The device has a self-propelled movable unit constituted by an autonomous sub-marine engine (1). A measurement sensor (2) measuring a magnetic signature of a boat is constituted by a three axle magnetometer (5). The sensor is arranged inside a rigid sheath (3) fixed outside shell of the engine by a tube (4). The sheath has interior connected to interior of the engine that has a helix (12) driven by a motor. A signal acquisition unit records signal from the magnetometer and a hydrophone (8), where the hydrophone determines relative position of the engine with respect to the boat. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring a magnetic signature of a boat using a magnetic signature measuring device.</p> |
