The generator has an electro-mechanical transducer (3) e.g. piezoelectric pocket, partially surrounded by cooling fluid (8) e.g. transformer oil, where the fluid is accommodated in a housing (2) and the heat from the fluid is dissipated to the environment through an outer wall (11) of the housing. The transducer is arranged in the housing in such a manner that the fluid flows between the transducer and the housing, where the flow sufficient for cooling and/or turbulence of the fluid and the heat dissipation at the housing take place through movement of the generator. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an ultrasonic generator comprising an electro-mechanical transducer. |
