<p>A method of coating a metallic surface with a metal bearing surface comprises the steps of spraying the second metal on to the first, which may have masked areas, and immersing the sprayed area into a fused salt bath which has been raised to a predetermined temperature. The area is kept in the bath until the metal member, i.e. the base, has reached the temperature of the bath. This treatment gives a diffusion band, which is suitable for joining a bearing surface to a journal shaft for a thrust reverser. Specification 698,425 is referred to.</p> |
