The drawing is a diametral section of surface aeration apparatus illustrating two arrangements of the agitator elements and baffles. The tank 10 has a spindle 16 having mounted thereon a driving ring or spider 17 to which is fixedly connected a concentric cylinder 18 with suitably braced horizontal arms 19 projecting either radially or tangentially thereform, a plurality of spaced teeth 20depending from each such arm being partially immersed below the normal static surface-level 21 of the liquid in the tank 10. The speed of rotation is such as to produce violent agitation at the liquid surface.</p> |
