<p>In a process for the oxidation of cyclohexane with molecular oxygen the unreacted cyclohexane is separated from the products, washed with water, separated and recycled to the oxidation stage. The oxygenated products are fractionated and cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol recovered, or further oxidized to adipic acid, or dehydrogenated to phenol.
