The heat exchanger has exchanger tubes (1) that are flowed through by a cooling medium and an air flow for cooling the cooling medium, and cooling fins arranged between the exchanger tubes. The exchanger tubes are fastened to a base unit (3), and a case (4) is glued to the base unit in a cooling medium-leak proof manner by an adhesive. A hollow space for guiding the cooling medium is formed by the base unit and the case, where the base unit is made from a non-ferrous metal or aluminum alloy and the case is made of plastic e.g. polyamide.
