The device has a number of light sources (3) whose light is coupled into a light conductor (1) and deflected towards the display. Light of different colors is emitted by at least two light sources that are separately electrically driven and a color for backlighting the display is selected by means of the electrical drive for the light sources of different colors. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) use of a device for illuminating a display, especially a liquid crystal display; and (ii) a method of illuminating the display. |
