An indexable insert (1) of the present invention has a structure including at least a rake face (2) and a bearing surface (5), the indexable insert (1) including a substrate and a coating layer disposed on the substrate, wherein the coating layer includes one or more layers and satisfies the relationship 0.9>R1/R2, wherein R1 represents the surface roughness Rz of the coating layer in the rake face (2), and R2 represents the surface roughness Rz of the coating layer in the bearing surface (5).
