A compression type volume reducing device having an air ventilating unit for expanded plastic is provided to prevent an air exhaust hole from being blocked up when small expanded plastic pieces are stuck and to restrain the expanded plastic form being stuck by effectively transferring heat through the air ventilating unit. A compression type volume reducing device having an air ventilating unit for expanded plastic is composed of: a compression chamber containing expanded plastic; an extruding port extruding the expanded plastic contained in the compression chamber; a compression unit compressing the expanded plastic of the compression chamber; plural air exhaust holes(26) formed on the surface of a passage between the extruding port and a discharge port(22) formed on an extension line of the extruding port; plural air ventilating units covering the surface of the passage formed between the extruding port and the discharge port where the air exhaust holes are formed; and an air ventilating passage formed between the air ventilating units.
