METHOD FOR IP HANDOFF UNDER MOBILE AGENT PLATFORM ENVIRONMENT

An IP(Internet Protocol) handoff method in an MAP(Mobile Agent Platform) environment is provided to enable two MAPs to share information on an MN(Mobile Node) by writing a neighboring area list, when the MN has to change an IP address by moving to a neighboring MAP from a certain MAP, thus fast IP handoff is available. An MAP receives a registration request message from a neighboring MAP(710). The MAP decides whether message contents sent by the neighboring MAP refer to a deletion request of a neighboring area list(715). If not, the MAP decides whether the message contents refer to addition to the neighboring area list(725). If not, the MAP delivers the IP handoff registration request message to an old FA(Foreign Agent) as it is(735).
