The lower end of the support arm for the wind-up roll or anchor bar can be pivoted in a plane perpendicular to the wind-up roll axle and is mounted on a carriage which can be moved along a vertical guide rail in the arm rotation plane. A support device is located in the region immediately above the upper end position for the lower end of the arm. The tensioning device for the wind-up roll urges the arm into contact with the support device. A lifting/lowering device moves the carriage up and down the guide rail. The sun blind cloth has one end connected to a rotatably mounted wind-up/unwind roll. The tensioning device biases the roll in the wind-up direction. The anchor bar extends parallel to the roll. Either the roll or arm is freely pivotable and the other is stationary and extends horizontally.
