A method for augmenting acute and chronic wound repair comprising the steps of configuring at least one waveform having at least one waveform parameter (Step 101), selecting a value of said at least one waveform parameter of said at least one waveform to maximize at least one of a signal to noise ratio and a Power signal to noise ratio, in a target pathway structure (Step 102), using said at least one waveform that maximizes said at least one of a signal to noise ratio and a Power signal to noise ratio in a target pathway structure (Step 103), to generate an electromagnetic signal, and coupling said electromagnetic signal to said target pathway structure to accelerate healing mechanisms (Step 104).
