<p>An apparatus for processing a moving picture is provided to reduce the number of image data which are not captured and to process a great number of image data as compared with those of a conventional moving picture processing apparatus, so that the output signal of the moving picture subject to less quality deterioration is obtained. An apparatus for processing a moving picture processes and encodes an image signal taken by a video camera. The apparatus for processing the moving picture includes a pipeline processing circuit, a memory(40), and a memory control circuit(50). The pipeline processing circuit includes an input circuit(10A), a motion estimation circuit(20), and an encoding circuit(30). The memory(40) is used as a buffer for data exchange in pipeline processing. The input circuit(10A), the motion estimation circuit(20), and the encoding circuit(30) are connected to the memory control circuit(50) through each bus(60). The apparatus for processing the moving picture includes a failure control circuit(70A) for performing a control operation such that the pipeline processing is not in an abnormal state.</p> |
