MANUFACTURING METHOD OF GLASS DROPLET AND APPARATUS THEREOF

A method and an apparatus for manufacturing glass spheres are provided to produce glass spheres in a safe and easy manner and minimize the occurrence of uneven droplets by using an electro-spray method. A method for manufacturing glass spheres includes the steps of: (a) electro-spraying an aqueous glass precursor solution by voltage difference to prepare droplets having surface charge; (b) transferring the droplets to a chamber having charge opposite to the surface charge of the droplet; and (c) pyrolyzing the droplets. An apparatus for manufacturing glass spheres comprises: a storage tank(1) for an aqueous glass precursor solution; a pressure control valve(2) and a pump(3) for transferring a raw material at a fixed rate; a sprayer(4) having a tube(4-1) and a nozzle(4-2); an electro-spray chamber(6) having the sprayer and a voltage supply device(5); a calcination furnace(7) which burns glass precursor droplets sprayed by the sprayer; and a collector(8) and a filter(9).
