A method for controlling recording speed of an optical disc device is provided to record data in an optical disc safely without a loss of the data by decreasing recording speed for an inferior wobble ID section when recording the data. A method for controlling recording speed of an optical disc device includes a step of storing a target address of an inferior wobble ID point or section by scanning a wobble ID of an optical disc(S14); a step of recording data on the optical disc at the maximum speed when a scanning operation is completed, and checking whether the target address recorded is included in the inferior wobble ID section(S15); a step of recording the data at the optical disc by changing the recording speed to low speed as the present target address is included in the inferior wobble ID section(S16,S17); and a step of recording the data at the optical disc by setting the recording speed to the maximum speed when the present target address is out of the inferior wobble ID section.
